Saturday March 7, 2020 – Begins the new era of Nagambie Open Water swimming – The Club to Pub

In partnership with Goulburn Valley Crocs Masters swimming.  Swimming a circuit loop from the Nagambie Rowing Club past Nagambie 3608 Brewery, returning to the Buckley Park boat ramp. Online entries receive free gift.

If you're new to the sport or just curious then why not try the 600 meter event, one loop around the circuit, or if you want to be part of the main event its a two loop circuit for the 1.1km race.


Ryan Gowty Memorial Trophy History
Ryan Gowty has a long history with the Nagambie On Water open water swim. In 2009, as a junior, he not only won the junior category but placed third fastest overall for the males. As a senior he was on the podium numerous times, narrowly missing the fastest overall swimmer in 2015, by just seconds.

At just 20 years of age Ryan was tragically killed in a camping accident on the Murray River over the 2018 Christmas break. The NOW Festival have two memorial awards in memory of Ryan.  Fastest Male and Fastest Female Swimmers.

Race information

Individual perpetual trophies for winners and medals for 1/2/3 placegetters.

The course follows the lake foreshore from Buckley Park Boat Ramp, through the heads past Nagambie Rowing club, Black Caviar, Nagambie 3608 Brewery, looping back to Buckley Park for a short 10m sprint to the finish line.  The 1.1km is a 2 circuit loop whilst the 600mtr is one loop. Spectators will be able to line the boardwalk and the Brewery  to encourage the competitors from start to finish.

1.1km Swim: Adults $40, Juniors $20 ($5 discount before 18 January with promo code “early bird“)

600 mtr Swim: all categories $20 ($5 discount before 18 January with promo code “early bird“)

On day entry fee – incurs an additional $5 late fee
